We know Elrig and Wigtownshire very well, I have spent an average of six weeks a year in the Machars, counting the years of national service and my two years in E.A. That means Six weeks for 75 years. Smithy cottage Elrig was an ideal substitute for our own home, and we went in November. The Machars has its own climate which is ALWAYS better than is forecast!!
